Aspire’s Mock Trial Team have been busy this weekend competing at the National Mock Trial Competition at Frederick University in Limassol.
Accompanied by their teacher, Ms Effie Thomson, the first day of the event saw them participate in two trials against teams from The English School and Pascal School Larnaca. Aspire’s team were successful in both trials winning them a place in the final the next day.
Equipped with the case files for the final trial, the team spent Saturday evening preparing for the following day’s trial against Pascal Greek School, Limassol.
In the final, the students performed outstandingly. They won the overall competition gaining them the title: “Cyprus Mock Trial Winning School 2024 – Aspire Private British School”. Sophia Fessas was also awarded Best Lawyer of the Competition 2024 and Henry Stevens was awarded Best Witness of the Competition 2024. All members of the team were offered 30% scholarship fees if they choose to study at Frederick University. Whilst Sophia Fessas, as best lawyer of the competition, has been offered an internship at Erotocritou Law Firm in Limassol – quite an achievement!
We are incredibly proud of our wonderful team; they have worked hard to improve their impressive performance from last year and succeeded. Very well done to you all.
