SUMMARY:Kataklysmos Bank Holiday
DESCRIPTION:School will be closed for this bank holiday. \nKataklysmos is a religious and popular festival with its roots in both the Bible and Greek mythology. Kataklysmos means “flood\,” and it refers to the Bible’s story about Noah in the book of Genesis as well as to a Greek creation myth associated with Zeus. \nThe celebration\, which begins on a Friday and lasts until Monday\, is usually held in seaside towns. Activities include games\, folk dancing\, boat races\, swimming competitions and feasting. \nThe most popular custom is throwing WATER at one another and playing with water pistols\, in memory of the flood that once destroyed nearly all life on earth.

DESCRIPTION:The graduation of our Year 13 students; a celebration of their achievements and to mark their acceptance into higher education at universities around the world. The ceremony takes place at the Ancient Odeon at the Paphos Archaeological Site and the after party for Year 13 students and families will be held on board the luxury yacht – Ocean Blue.

SUMMARY:Cyprus National Day Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:To commemorate 1st April\, Cyprus National Day\, we have decided to consider the importance of independence\, peace and freedom by creating a whole-school ‘figure of freedom’. \nIn an attempt to symbolise peace\, the students will form a large outline of the island of Cyprus on the playground using rope\, students will then attach white paper cut-out doves and olive branches around the outline to create a visual piece of artwork. \nThe whole school community including parents\, grandparents\, school alumni and Y7-9 students who are not physically present with us at the moment will cut out doves and send into school for us to attach to our ‘figure of freedom’ on Wednesday. Messages of hope will be added to the doves and we hope this will stand as a figure of freedom and unity in these difficult times.
